- I found the commentary on the different types of developers interesting. I think there are three types:
Those who have been beat down
9 to 5'ers
Newbs
Elite
I think it is important to understand that 9 to 5'ers have very little ambition and would just as soon sail through there jobs on a daily basis. They don't care about doing anything else so reading books after work is not their thing regardless of whether they are an average or bad programmer. I don't understand them, but they don't hurt anyone. The beat downers are a different story. They really paint a bad picture of their work enviroment and this can bring down the rest of team especially the elite's/newb's
